Hello fine visitors to StuartThornton.com...

The third edition of my most popular book is perfect for anyone who wants to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip around the iconic sights of the American West.

Major points of interest in this 480-page guide include San Francisco, Yosemite, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, and the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and unexpected attractions along the way including the Area 51 Travel Center and Watts Towers.

In this outing, I am most excited about my finds in in the Yosemite area and in a resurgent downtown Los Angeles. With so many new venues in L.A. covered in this edition, the image of the city’s Griffith Observatory on the book’s cover is ideal.

Also, stay tuned for new editions of Moon Coastal California and Moon Monterey & Carmel in the near future!

In the meantime, pick up a copy of the new Moon California Road Trip at your favorite bookstore or click the book image for information on how to purchase the book online.

moon travel guides monterey and carmel & by stuart thorntonJust recently we also unveiled Moon Monterey & Carmel! Having lived in Monterey County for almost 20 years, it is a real pleasure to write about this amazing stretch of California coastline. This 296-page guide covers the whole of the Monterey Peninsula along with the vibrant surf town of Santa Cruz, the 90 miles of Big Sur coast, the popular Hearst Castle, and the scenic fishing village of Morro Bay.

Expect coverage of the expected attractions including the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row along with some real inside information about places that even some longtime locals have not experienced. The latter includes directions to one of Monterey Bay’s only beached shipwrecks and information about spending a night with the monks of Big Sur’s New Camaldoli Hermitage.
